Daniel José Windholz

It is with broken hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Windholz on Saturday, June 6th, 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil, at the age of 80. He was laid to rest there on June 7th, at the 'Cemitério Israelita do Embu'.

Known affectionately as "our crazy Dani", he possessed an infectious energy and embraced every day with enthusiasm, resilience, and optimism, never allowing life's challenges to diminish his spirit. He loved music, soccer, and making magic in the kitchen, but above all he valued family. 

Beloved son of the late Maggi z"l and Fridel z”l. Survived by his former wife Sylvia Marques, with whom he shared two children in Montreal, Samuel and Tamara. He was a warm and caring father-in-law to their respective spouses Juana and Paco, and an eternally proud and adoring 'Vovô' to his treasured grandsons, Rafa and Paquito. Cherished older brother and brother-in-law to Ari and Becky, Davi and Su in Israel, and Moria and Mauricio in Brazil, and uncle to Sharon, Alon, Micha, Ilan, Roni, Ricky and Andy. He is survived as well by his devoted wife Carmen, and held a special place in the hearts of his extended family, her daughters Cristina and Raquel, and grandchildren Victoria and Ian.

Dani will be profoundly missed by his family, lifelong friends, and all those whose lives were brightened by his presence in Montreal, Brazil, Israel and elsewhere around the world. His booming laugh, unforgettable stories, and boundless warmth left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
