October 11, 1925 – June 8, 2025
We are saddened to announce the passing of Edith Katz on Sunday, June 8, 2025, in her one hundredth year. Beloved wife of the late Aladar (Ali) (1921-1990). Loving mother and mother-in-law of Ilana and Brahm Shiller. Grandmother of Aviva Shiller (Guillaume Lamoureux), Adam Shiller (Clara Danton) and Arielle Shiller (David Wilson). Great-grandmother of Emanuel and Noam Lamoureaux, Eleonore Danton Shiller and James Wilson. Edith was predeceased by her parents, Moritz and Rose Moldovan and her sister and brother-in-law Eva and Nicholas (Nandi) Stastny. Never forgotten was her brother Tibor who perished in Auschwitz. Missing her is her niece Vera Markowitz (the late Harold) and her children and grandchildren. Our heartfelt thanks to Edith's caregiver, Iren Kocsis, whose remarkable patience and loyalty is greatly appreciated.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on June 10 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O.
