Peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Beloved husband of Elaine for sixty years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Lorne Shapiro and Hiroko Natsume, Rochelle and Michael Wainberg. Cherished Sabbah of Hayes, Leam; Lili and Max. Dear brother of the late Stanley Shapiro and brother of Alan Shapiro. Brother-in-law of Regina and the late Joe Abbott. Elie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends, as well as all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Sunday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Temple Emanu-el Beth Shalom section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at his home ending Wednesday evening April 29.
