Ernest (Ernie) Furt

With courage and dignity, at home surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.  Devoted husband of Allison Berger for 34 years.  Adored father and father-in-law of Melyssa Furt and Stephen Sugumar, William Furt and Kaylee Miller, Jessica Furt and Michael Elhachem.  Very proud and loving ‘Aida’ of Leo. Predeceased by his brother Avrum (Avy). Dear brother-in-law of Brian Berger and Franca Alfano, Craig Berger and Celine Afriat. Son of the late Maurice and the late Gertrude Furt; and son-in-law of the late Leonard and the late Louise Berger. His nieces, nephews, their families, his cousins, and his many dear friends will miss him deeply. Special thanks to Jeff Kohos for his love, support and years of friendship.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. West, on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.  Burial at the Beth Tikvah Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O.  Due to the onset of Simchat Torah, Shiva begins Wednesday evening at their home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., continuing Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Evening service on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.  The family will receive condolence visits at their home following burial until 5:00 p.m., Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Contributions in Ernie’s memory may be made to Cedars CanSupport at (514) 934-1934 ext. 31666 or click here.
