Ethel Landy was born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, on May 22, 1933. She died peacefully at home on September 15, 2026.
Ethel is survived by her loving children, Samena, Jeffrey (Karen) and Mark (Corrin), and her grandchildren, Ariel (Carly), Alanna, Jordan, Madeleine, Blake and Colton.
Ethel was literally one of a kind. She was blessed with a beautiful singing voice that only G-d could have created (her signature song was “It Had To Be You”) and acting skills that surely would have garnered her multiple Academy Awards. And was Ethel ever colourful! She loved a good joke and a good laugh; she ate it up.
Most importantly, Ethel adored her children and grandchildren. They were her life. Literally. We so enjoyed her company and will miss her goodness, her joie de vivre, and the unforgettable impact she had on everyone who knew her.
To say Ethel was unique and will be missed by her family and the world is an understatement of epic proportions.
