It is with peace in our hearts and gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Ethel (Eti) Wishinski announces her passing on Friday, January 23, 2026. Eti was born in Romania on September 10, 1925, and passed away at the age of 100 years young after a long and remarkable life. Eti was a holocaust survivor and a true warrior. She survived the hardships of the holocaust, during which she met Sam, the love of her life for over 72 years. They were both teenagers when they met and yet managed, thanks to their love and strength, to save Eti's four younger brothers and sisters, whose families now flourish in Canada and in Israel. They were pioneers in the early days of the founding of Israel, and then immigrated to Canada, thus fulfilling Sam's dream. The struggle of resettlement in Canada was met with fortitude, and through hard work and love of family. They thrived and led memorable lives.

Predeceased by her parents, Sara and Alter, who perished in the Holocaust. Loving wife of the late Sam Wishinski. Beloved mother and mother- in-law of Alex Wishinski, and Shoshana and Danny Bilek. Cherished grandmother of Sharona, Adam, Jason and Aaron. Proud great-grandmother of Harel, Aiden, Joshua, Layla, Zoey, and Lucas. Dear sister of Arye Peltz (z"l), Mania Grajcar (z"l), Baruch Peltz and Tania Tesler.

Eti will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, friends, and by all who knew and loved her.

A chapel service will take place in Toronto at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel this Sunday, January 26 at 4:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Montreal, Thursday, January 29 at 12:00 p.m., Beth Ora Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O.
