It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Faigie (Fanny) Stark of Montreal on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the age of ninety-one. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Howard Harris and Joanne Cooperstone, Lynn Harris and Mark Dover, and Gail Harris and Henry Baragar. Proud grandmother of Aidan Nulman, Hayes Nulman and Michelle Azimov; Justin Harris and Jaclyn Hearnden, and Laura Harris; loving great-grandmother of Olivia and Liam. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Hilda and Saul Stark, Norma and the late Jack Nutkevitch, and Elaine and Avrum Stark. Longtime partner of the late Seymour Coviensky. Faigie will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, by Seymour’s children and grandchildren—with whom she shared many happy moments over the years—and by her family, friends, and all those who knew her.

Born in Montreal to the late Leah and the late Harry Stark, Faigie lived a life shaped by kindness, hard work, and deep care for the people around her. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper and carried the responsibilities of life with strength and determination. Faigie will be remembered as a kind and good person whose warmth touched many lives. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to her wonderful team of caregivers, especially Michelle Aguirre and Zeni (Lucena) Galimba. Much gratitude to the 3A doctors, nurses, and staff at the Donald Berman Jewish Eldercare Centre for their thoughtful care and support over the past three years.
