On January 21st, 65 days before her 100th birthday, Gerry passed away at home after a short illness.
She was predeceased by Charles Nichols, her husband and best friend of 55 years, and her siblings Fanny Abrams, Sam Moscovitch, Lucy Fishman, and Sydney Moscovitch. Gerry was loved and admired for her intelligence, warmth and vibrant personality by her sons, Paul and Eric and their spouses, Barbara Kelly and Barbara Mayman.
Her grandchildren, Cathy, Stephanie and Danny Nichols and their partners, Adam, Eddy and Vanessa, cherished their relationships with her. Gerry valued hugs, games and conversations with her great grandchildren: Emma, Charlie, Elijah, Sam, Alex, Mikayla and Mara. Her many nieces and nephews, and her great niece, Joey Moscovitch will miss her dearly.
In her younger years, Gerry enjoyed skiing, badminton, theatre, art and travelling with Charlie. An ardent and competitive bridge player and a keen golfer well into her nineties, she also maintained many long friendships.
Funeral services from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West, Montreal on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation one hour before services. Burial at the B’Nai Brith Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O.
