Proud and deeply devoted grandfather to Chad Gurman and fiancée Elinor Hazan, Chase, and Olivia Gurman; Darcie, Jack, Nick, and Harrison Reisler; and loving great-grandfather of Cali Gurman, each of whom he adored and who brought him endless joy and pride. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Noonie and the late Seymour Reisler, the late Saul and the late Anne Reisler, the late Irving (Racky) and the late Anita Reisler, the late Jack and the late Leah Reisler. Hy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Hyman was a man of tremendous depth—intellectually gifted, professionally accomplished, and personally humble. As a cardiologist, he dedicated his life to the care of others, offering comfort, expertise, and compassion to everyone who crossed his path. Yet it was in his roles as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather where his heart truly shined. His loyalty to family was unshakable, and his quiet strength was a constant presence in the lives of those he loved. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the love he gave, and the quiet example he set.
