Our father Harry Mintz passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, leaving behind a family who he loved deeply. His family was by his side during his final hours of life.

He was the proud father of two children, Marcy (Rob Harrop) and Eric (Mary-Ann Adjemian) and a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren, Jessica (Oren), Evan, Andrew (Emma), Matthew and Michael. His family brought him immense joy and pride.

For over 35 years Harry shared a loving partnership with Ilsa  Zajdman, who sadly passed away just one week before him. Their bond was meaningful and enduring. He shared many cherished memories with Ilsa, including wonderful holidays, many laughs, as well as intense of Scrabble games. He is also remembered with affection by her two daughters Karen and Monica, who were an important and cherished part of his life.

He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel Mintz, Lillian Mintz (Lecker) and his sister Sheila Oser.

Harry enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a mathematics teacher at Western Laval High School and Chomedey Polyvalent High School. He was deeply proud of his profession and was widely respected by students, colleagues, and the school communities he served.

He will be remembered by his intelligence, generosity and sense of humor.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who knew him.

We are indebted to Maimonides care center, 6S. The staff there cared for him in a kind and compassionate manner for over five years.

A private funeral service to take place. Please respect the family’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry’s memory may be made to the Donald Berman Maimonides Foundation, (514) 483-2121 ext. 72207 or click here.
