It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Helen Klar (Moscovitch) (née Apisdorf) on Monday, April 20, 2026 in Toronto Ontario, at the age of ninety. Helen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Karen Klar, Michael Klar, Stephen Klar and Janice Gross; her grandchildren, Brahm Klar and Danielle Singer, Andrew Klar, Erin Klar and Jonathan Levy, Ben Klar, Adam Klar, Noah Klar, Abby Klar and Isaac Klar; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Levy, and Blake and Sadie Klar. She is predeceased by her parents, Hersh and Lottie Apisdorf, and her husband Ben Klar. She will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and by Kathy Klar.
Helen was a courageous woman with great determination. As an only child who survived World War II in Siberia, she came to understand early that family mattered most. After losing her husband prematurely, along with both of her parents within a single year, Helen devoted herself to the upbringing of her three sons. She took great pride and joy in spending time with her family and leaves a legacy of love and appreciation, and a model of resilience. Helen will be deeply missed.
