Peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, in his eighty-seventh year, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with Bulbar ALS. Beloved husband and best friend of Roslyn for sixty-five years. Devoted and cherished father and father-in-law of Linda and Chuck, Susan, and Donna and Dave. Proud Zaidy of Matthew and Emily, and Lauren. Son of the late Dora and the late Avrum Pfefer. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Anita and the late Hy Krakow, the late Larry, and the late Shirley; and brother-in-law of the late Isaac Engel. Nick will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and all who knew him. A proud professional engineer, he enjoyed three remarkable careers—as a chemical engineer, the owner of a leading sleepwear manufacturing company, and, for the final 20 years of his working life, a trusted investment advisor until the age of 82. He was an exceptionally creative organizer who brought countless memorable events to life, a prolific songwriter, and someone with a deep passion for connecting with and helping others. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Golda Tradounsky and her team, Dr. Rami Massie and his team, and Dr. Thomas Tulandi for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Jack Trottenberg for his devotion to Nick.
