It is with great sadness that Jack’s family announces his passing on August 4, 2026, following a brief illness.

Beloved husband of Harriet (Cramer Segal) for 68 years. Devoted father of Brenda, Jerry (Linda Quattrin), Mark (Andrée Naimer), and Lara (Graham Pratt). Cherished and loving grandfather of Nathaniel, Hannah (Josh Laxer), Benjamin, Mira, Jonathan, and Margot. Proud great-grandfather of Eliza. Family was at the center of Jack’s life. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and nothing brought him greater happiness than seeing his family together.

Beloved son of the late Moses and the late Fanny Lazare. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Susan and the late Otto Sand, Luca and the late Daniel Lazare; brother-in-law of Emmelle and the late Alvin Segal, Connie and the late Charles Solomon. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends in Canada, the United States, and Israel.

A lifelong Montrealer, Jack enjoyed successful careers in both the music and travel industries and amassed a celebrated art collection. A true Renaissance man, he possessed a deep curiosity about the world and a lifelong love of politics, literature, music, travel and sports. He treasured friendships that spanned decades and brought him immeasurable joy throughout his life.
