Peacefully, in his ninety-sixth year on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, at his home. Beloved husband of Pnina, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and family. Cherished father of Zahava (Howard Satim) and Jeffrey (Natalie Sendel). Proud Saba to Allan (Dana Mailhot), Avi (Amanda Bercovitch), Eric Satim (Cortnee Charleson), Zackary, Jillian, and Spencer Kifell. Loving Great-Saba of Ryder, Austin, Madison, Mason, Hudson, and Bo. Dear brother of the late Tova. Son of the late Zev and Malka Kifell. Nothing meant more to Ychiel than seeing his family grow, and he took immense pride in the generations that followed him.

Ychiel’s life was a testament to perseverance, hard work, loyalty, faith, and an unbreakable spirit. He lived his life to the fullest extent: always doing what he wanted, when he wanted. Ychiel saw the world and lived experiences that some can only dream of. His incredible stories live on in the memories of the loved ones he shared them with. His incredible strength, unwavering determination, and deep commitment to his family and Jewish values will continue to inspire all who knew him. He took great pride in Israel and in the role he played in the country’s founding. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his devoted caregiver, Bernadette, whose compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication brought Ychiel comfort, dignity, and exceptional care. She became a cherished part of his life and remains a beloved part of our family. A special thank you as well to Shey, Ramona, and Jo, who provided him with immense care.
