Joei Carlton Hossack (née Sandra Schertzer)

On May 9, 2026 in her 83rd year, at Peace Arch Hospital in Surrey, BC, after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Hossack z”l and siblings, Nathan Schertzer z”l, Harry Schertzer z”l, and recently, Mona Mesirow z”l.

She will be missed by her nieces and nephews: Rhonda Schertzer, Rena Schertzer, and Steve Schertzer, Michael Mesirow (Kate Prendergast), Robert Schertzer (Laura Rosenthal) and Stephen Schertzer (Ruth Wingerin), and many great-nieces and nephews.

Born in Montreal, Joei made many friends during her years on the road and through her prolific writing, story telling, and beautiful bead work.

Funeral service on Monday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Schara Tzedeck Cemetery, 16656 60 Ave, Surrey, BC.
