Suddenly on Monday June 15, 2026. Beloved husband of Cheryl Blas. Devoted father and father-in-law of Max and Shadin Segal, Adam Segal. Dear brother of Bruce and the late Nancy. Joel will be sadly mourned and fondly remembered by Susan Mittelman, Alex Rothstein and her children; Ella, Ruby and Leni; Lindsay Rothstein and Thierry Benarroch, and by his family and many friends. Cherished uncle of Lauren Kaplin and Brian Kozlowski, Eric Kaplin, Andrea Kaplin and fiancé Nick Howard.

His legacy lives on not only through the business he built, but through the employees, clients and colleagues whose lives he touched with his dedication, integrity, and care. Above all, however, his greatest pride and most enduring legacy was his family, who were always at the center of his life and heart.

Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Wednesday June 17 at 12 noon. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom Congregation Section, Mount Royal Cemetery. Shiva at his home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
