Peacefully, on Shabbat, August 31, 2024, in her one hundredth year. Most cherished and loved wife of the late Sheldon Cohen for sixty-three years. Devoted and loving mother and mother-in-law of Elissa and John Kovac. Adored Nana of Evan and Victoria Kovac, Adam Kovac, Lauren and Daniel Smajovits. Proud ‘Great-Nana’ of William, Emilia, Nathan, Avery and Asher. Predeceased by her dear siblings and their spouses, Clary and Sam Abramovitch, Millie and Saul Globus, Sara and Larry Kahn, Mac and Rae Guttman, Louis and Clara Goodman, Charles and Yetta Goodman, Manny and Sadye Goodman, Sammy and Jean Guttman; and by Sheldon’s brother and sister-in-law, Elliot and Freda Cohen. Devoted youngest daughter of the late Harry and the late Ida Guttman. Beloved auntie to numerous nieces and nephews, and their families. Leah lived a long life dedicated to family and Yiddishkeit.  Maintaining traditions for the next generation was extremely important to her. Special thank you to the 5th floor staff at Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their compassionate care.
