It is with deep sorrow and great love that we mourn the peaceful passing of our matriarch, Lily Steinfeld in her ninety-seventh year. Daughter of the late Sam and the late Esther Wolfman of Toronto. Loving wife and forever “bride” of the late Saul Steinfeld for over seventy years. Loving and loved mother and mother-in-law of Joanne and Bruce Costom, Robbie Steinfeld, Ellen and the late Mitchel Gurman, and Marla Steinfeld. Cherished grandma of Lee and Aimée, Adam, Rachel and Jeremy, David and Cary, Jared and Laurie, Lauren and Ryan, Daniel and Laura, and Derek. Beloved great-grandmother of Emily, Jessica, Ben, Bodhi, Albie, Amelia, Max, Zoe, Kaily, Maya, Leah, and David. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Raye and Joe Friedman, Issie and Jeannie Wolfman, Max and Betty Wolfman, Yetta and Abe Berman, Morrie and Pauline Wolfman. Sister-in-law of Deborah Tatro; the late Mac and the late Claire Wilner. Much loved Auntie Lil of all of her nieces and nephews in Toronto, and of Rhona and the late Socky Sokoloff, the late Allen Wilner, and Anzie and Barry Stein.

Lily was a true lady in every sense of the word. She was genuine, extremely strong, resilient, loyal, and selfless. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, were the cornerstones of her life. Her physical and inner beauty and grace were apparent to everyone who met her.

Special thanks to Dr. Theodore Wein for his care and compassion.
