The family will be sitting shiva at 217 Lippincott Street, beginning after the interment on Thursday November 20th.

Shaharit services will take place in the house of mourning on Friday November 21st, Monday November 24th, Tuesday November 25th and Wednesday November 26th beginning at 8:00 am. Shaharit on Sunday November 23rd beginning at 9:00 am.

Mincha-Maariv services will take place on Thursday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday beginning at 4:30 pm.

In addition to service times, visits are welcome on Thursday evening until 9:00 pm, and Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:30 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and Friday during the day until 1:00 pm. Shiva concludes on Wednesday morning November 26th following shaharit services.

Linda Lipsky, beloved wife of Rabbi Ed Elkin. Loving mother of Malka and Tali, mother-in-law of Nathan Goldstein Apt. Cherished youngest sister of Gloria Lipsky and Naomi Lipsky Cracower. Dear sister-in-law of Allan Cracower, Marjorie Elkin, Janet Brand, Charles and Robin Elkin. Devoted aunt to Margery Granofsky, Micki Mizrahi, Jonathan Cracower, Matthew Elkin, Zachary Elkin, Jordan Elkin and their families. Loving daughter of the late Harry and Molly Lipsky z"l. Devoted cousin of the Lipsky and Walsh families. Admired friend of so many.

Linda was a humble, kind and generous soul, a gute neshamah in every sense. She did her PhD in American literature from the University of Montreal, and inspired generations of students at U of M, Concordia, and York University. She was a published author and gifted translator of Yiddish literature. Her Yiddishkeit and her love of family were the essence of her being. May her memory be a blessing.
