Miron Goldszmidt

It is with profound sadness that we announce Miron's passing on Friday, July 17th, surrounded by his loving family.

Cherished and wonderful husband of Nella Edel for 35 years. Miron was the beloved son of the late Chasia and the late Jakub Goldszmidt. Loving and proud father and father-in-law of Eric Goldszmidt and Debra Druker, Mark Goldszmidt and Michelle Brooks, and Cindy and Jay Barron. Miron loved and was loved by Lynne and Elan Satov, and Joel Herscovitch and Allison Boman, whom he treated as his own. Adored Zaidie of Rachel and Neal Goldszmidt; Rebecca, Sam, Jacob, and Max Goldszmidt; Laura and Avery Barron; Rachel and Erin Satov; and Max Herscovitch. Dear brother of Sarah Duffie (the late Alex) and the late Alik Goldszmidt, and brother-in-law of Harry Edel (Ghislaine); special uncle and treasured friend.

Miron will be fondly remembered as a family man and a cherished friend, always ready to lend a helping hand. He practiced random acts of kindness daily, was a dedicated volunteer at The Cummings Center, and fundraiser for The Montreal General and Children’s Hospitals.

Miron was a sports enthusiast and was known for his boundless energy. He coached soccer for 25 years and enjoyed playing pickleball, volleyball, tennis, ping pong, and he especially loved to dance. 

The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Neil Fleshner, Dr. Srikala Sridhar, Dr. Michel Beausoleil, Dr. Andrey Blitzer, Dr. Asia Kreitchman, and Leanne Ruderman (social worker) for their compassion and care during this very difficult last year.

Miron was an Honourable Mensch, with a heart of gold, whose legacy of kindness, zest for life, and boundless love will remain with us forever.
