Mardoché Levy

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Mordechai (Mardoché) Levy z”l, qui nous a quittés entouré de sa famille lors de la deuxième bougie de Hanouka, le 16 décembre 2025. Fils de Mimoun Levy z”l et de Myriam Elahadad z”l. Époux bien-aimé de Denise Bettan depuis 51 ans. Père et beau-père de Myriam Levy et Michael Bouhadana, Arié Levy et Ruth Benyayer. Fier grand-père de Naomi, Arielle, Yair, Talia, Adèle, Eytan et Yonathan Bouhadana, ainsi que de Ayelet, Noa, Nili, Tehila et Liora Levy, et arrière-grand-père d’Ayelet et Odelia Amar.

Né à Ouezzane, au Maroc, Mardoché a immigré à Montréal, où il a fondé « Kolvo », un commerce d’alimentation cacher qui était aussi un lieu de rencontre pour la communauté. Bénévole communautaire engagé toute sa vie, membre de la Hevra Kadisha, il a fait son aliyah en Israël en 2010.

Papa, Papi, ton souvenir nous manquera infiniment et restera à jamais une source d’inspiration pour nous tous.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mordechai (Mardoché) Levy z”l, who left us surrounded by his family on the second candle of Hanukkah, on December 16, 2025. Son of Mimoun Levy z”l and Myriam Elahadad z”l. Beloved husband of Denise Bettan for fifty-one years. Father and father-in-law of Myriam Levy and Michael Bouhadana, Arié Levy and Ruth Benyayer. Proud grandfather of Naomi, Arielle, Yair, Talia, Adèle, Eytan, and Yonathan Bouhadana, as well as Ayelet, Noa, Nili, Tehila, and Liora Levy, and great-grandfather of Ayelet and Odelia Amar.

Born in Ouezzane, Morocco, Mardoché immigrated to Montreal, where he founded “Kolvo,” a kosher food business that also served as a gathering place for the community. A dedicated community volunteer throughout his life and a member of the Hevra Kadisha, he made aliyah to Israel in 2010.

Papa, Papi, your memory will be deeply missed and will forever remain a source of inspiration for us all.
