Mario Bejerman

With sorrow, we announce that Mario Bejerman, 86, passed away on December 1, 2025.

Born in Buenos Aires, Mario came to Canada determined to build a better life for the family he dreamed of. He became a respected surgeon, remembered as much for his steady hands as for the warmth, fairness, and gentleness he brought to every patient he treated.

Brilliant and endlessly curious, Mario was a champ at Jeopardy! and loved nothing more than learning something new.  Music was the soundtrack of his life, filling the home he and his family built with comfort, joy, and countless memories.  We will always remember gathering around the piano while Mario proudly played us his beloved tango pieces.

Mario leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Veronica — his greatest love and partner.  He is also survived by their four children, Michael, Vivian, Alex, and David, who carry forward the values he lived by: work hard, choose wisely, and act with unwavering integrity.

To his six beloved grandchildren, he was simply “Abuelo,” a source of jokes, wisdom, and unconditional love. "Abuelo knows everything" was more than a family saying — it was the truth we all felt in his presence.

Mario will be remembered for his sharp wit, his generous spirit, and the kindness he offered to everyone lucky enough to know him.
