Suddenly on January 17th, 2026. Devoted husband and soulmate of Noreen for fifty-nine years, each moment together was a gift. Loving father and father-in-law of Kim and Arik Arnesty, Marny and Jacob Abella, and Robert and Jas Hershorn. Proud Zaida of Felix Abella. Predeceased by his sister Barbara.
Manny’s eighty-sixth birthday would have been on the day of the service. He was the finest and best friend that anyone could ever dream of having. Manny was a “gutte neshuma”, always devoted to his family. He was an esteemed professor at Concordia University and Dawson College. His love of life was reflected in his passion for writing. He founded and lovingly led the writers’ group, an integral part of the Cote St. Luc Men’s Club. Manny will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, students, colleagues, and all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Monday, January 19, at 2:00 pm. Burial at Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at his home.
