Nora Stossel (née Inghel)

Peacefully, on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of ninety-one. Beloved wife of the late Julio Stossel. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Monica and Gerry Weinstein, Patricia and the late Joey Frai, Sandra Stossel and Gary Rosen. Cherished Bubbie of Melanie and Nicholas, Nathaniel and Gabriel; Phil and Jessica, Rebecca, Nick and Tasha; Zachary and Chloe, and Charlotte and Keelan; and proud great-grandmother of Joey and Dylan. Daughter of the late Adolf and the late Clara Inghel. Predeceased by her sister and brothers-in-law, Daisy and Willy Frei; Paul Stossel. Nora will be missed by her nieces and nephews, family, friends, and all those who knew her. Special thanks to Karen, Josephine, Lilian, Dawn, and Leah for their kindness and companionship, and to the Doctors, nurses, staff at St Mary’s Hospital - 8th floor - for their care.

Nora was smart, beautiful, and ambitious. Family and friends were everything to her, and she expressed her love through cooking and feeding those around her. Nora lived a meaningful, full life and fought fiercely until the end. We are grateful to have had her for so long, and will miss her dearly.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at 6635 Mackle (Reception Room) Wednesday following burial until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:00 p.m. daily.
