Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, May 22, 2026, in her ninety-seventh year. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Moshe Gelerman. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of David and Stella Gelerman, and Yevgenya (Gita) and the late Mark Gutman, and Yevgenya’s partner Vladimir Bronfen. Loving grandmother of Allana and Mitchell Barr, Boris Gelerman and Maricela Sorto, Erika Gutman and Sean Donovan, Manuel Gelerman, and Elizabeth and Laurent Benchetrit. Proud and adored great-grandmother of Marina and Francesca Barr; Miriam, Ariel, Angelina, Mila, Lion, and Elina Gelerman; and Elsa, Eden, and Logan Benchetrit. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Abram and Larissa Feldman, Iossif and Elena Feldman, Tynia and Samuel Milyavsky. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Nusia will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived a long and remarkable life, marked by resilience, courage, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. A survivor of the Second World War, she faced unimaginable hardships with extraordinary strength and dignity.

Born in Zhvanets, Western Ukraine, in 1929 to the late Itzah and Bella Feldman, Nusia married the love of her life, Moshe Gelerman, in 1950. Together they built a beautiful and loving family grounded in kindness, generosity, and unity. In 1982, they immigrated to Montreal, where they created a warm home and proudly sponsored many relatives who later followed them from Ukraine, always opening their hearts and doors to family in need. Nusia’s life was also marked by remarkable determination and faith.

Her greatest joy and proudest legacy were her close-knit family. Her warmth, wisdom, generosity, and gentle strength will remain forever in the hearts of those she loved.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff of Unit C, 5th Floor, at Jewish General Hospital as well as to her devoted caregivers, Lena and Luba, for their compassion, kindness, and exceptional care.
