Raymonde Cohen (née Soussana)

It is with immense sadness that the family of Raymonde Soussana Cohen announces her passing on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Daughter of the Late Leon Soussana and the late Esther Therese Soussana née Pellas. Devoted wife of the late Maurice Cohen for 61 years. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Jacques and the late Connie; Gilles and Nadine; Thierry and Myriam and Trina who held a special place in her life. Cherished Nanny of Adam and Stephanie, Chelsea and Josh, Corey and Kiara; Alexandra and Tony, Michael and Shannen; Joshua and Katherine, Melissa, Jordan and Ariel. Loving great-grandmother of five wonderful little girls: Emma, Mia, Ivey-Rose, Ruby-Ray and Eva. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Sauveur, Michel and Sylvain. France and Francine, Roger and Denise, Charles and Aline, Victor and Claudine Soussana. A special thank you to Doctors Michael Pollak and Bernard Elfassy, and the wonderful staff on the 4th floor of the Palliative Care at the Jewish General Hospital,  who cared for her with such warmth and compassion. We are forever grateful.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Family Estates Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Épouse dévouée de feu Maurice Cohen pendant 61 ans. Mère et belle-mère bien-aimée de Jacques et de feu Connie; Gilles et Nadine; Thierry et Myriam, ainsi que Trina, qui occupait une place toute particulière dans sa vie. Nanny adorée d’Adam et Stephanie, Chelsea et Josh, Corey et Kiara; Alexandra et Tony, Michael et Shannen; Joshua et Katherine, Melissa, Jordan et Ariel. Arrière-grand-mère aimante de cinq merveilleuses petites filles : Emma, Mia, Ivey-Rose, Ruby-Ray et Eva. Chère sœur et belle-sœur de feu Sauveur, Michel et Sylvain; France et Francine; Roger et Denise; Charles et Aline; Victor et Claudine Soussana. Un merci tout particulier aux docteurs Michael Pollak et Bernard Elfassy, ainsi qu’au merveilleux personnel du 4e étage des soins palliatifs de l’Hôpital général juif, qui a pris soin d’elle avec tant de chaleur et de compassion. Nous leur en serons éternellement reconnaissants.

Les funérailles auront lieu chez Paperman & Sons, 3888, rue Jean-Talon Ouest, le dimanche 23 août à 14 h. Inhumation au cimetière Kehal Israel, section Beit Abraham Family Estates, à D.D.O. Des dons en sa mémoire peuvent être versés au « Fonds commémoratif Raymonde Cohen pour la recherche sur le cancer du sein » de la Fondation de l’Hôpital général juif, au 514-340-8251.
