It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Rose Laskin Byer on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of ninety-two. Known for her dignified poise, generous spirit, and incredible heart, Rose enriched the lives of all who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of grace and strength.

For sixty-nine wonderful years, Rose was the beloved wife of the late Gerson Byer. Their enduring partnership was a true testament to love, unwavering devotion, and mutual respect - a bond that was the cornerstone of their loving family. Rose's legacy is carried on by her sons Mark and Steven, and Paul Eysie, whose lives were deeply enriched by her warmth and guidance. Rose delighted in time spent with her cherished grandchildren Max and Teryn Byer (Greg Morel), and great-grandchildren Jackson and Josephine, and her daughter-in-law, Shelley Byer (Andrew Stoppelmann).

Predeceased by her beloved brothers, Harold and David Laskin, and sister-in-law Mildred Rudner (Alex), Rose is survived by her cherished sisters-in-law, Rhona Laskin Wexler, Shulamit Tyberg-Isaacs (Kim Isaacs), and the late Zvi Tyberg. Rose held a special place in her heart for her beloved friends, Wilma, Eleanor, the late Marilyn, Naomi, Reisha and Margaret. Rose was deeply loved and will be remembered by her nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Bernard, Dr. Todd, and Dr. Kilmartin, as well as all the doctors, nurses, and dedicated staff of the Jewish General Hospital (C5D7). Special thanks to her loving nephew, Dr. David Panzer, for his guidance and invaluable support.

As we celebrate a life filled with love, faith, laughter, and resilience, we remember Rose for the relationships she nurtured and the light she shared with those around her. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
