Peacefully, on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Ruth was the loving and devoted wife of the late Wolfe Friedman for fifty-eight years. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Miriam Friedman, and Jacob and Helen Friedman. Adored Bubbie of Ben Johnson (Barb Lewis), Jeff Johnson, Lauren Johnson (Andy Cookson); Elana Karroum (Jacob Karroum) and Nathan Friedman (Laura Castellani). Proud ‘Super Bubbie’ of Samantha, Payten, Abbie, Lyla, Ash, Ethan, Pax, Jonah, Emmy, Kai, Jade, Nora and Wolfe. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Nancy and the late Joe Kizner, the late Paul and the late Doreen Kizner, the late Sophie and the late Herbert Jaschik; and sister-in-law of the late Horace and the late Florence Friedman, the late Dr. Sydney Friedman and the late Dr. Constance Friedman, the late Dr. Sidney Kobernick and the late Isabelle Kobernick. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ruth touched the lives of so many throughout her life and in her long career as a teacher, guidance counsellor and vice principal, an involved community member, a great supporter of the arts, bridge whiz, artist and an avid golfer. Ruth always considered her most important and cherished roles in life were as a loving and devoted wife, Mom, Bubbie and Super Bubbie and a dear and constant friend. She will be greatly missed. A special thank you to the staff at Chartwell Clair Hills for their compassionate care over the last many months.
