Sandra Dubrofsky (née Cherry)

Suddenly, but peacefully, on September 1st at the age of eighty-three with her husband of sixty-three years by her side.  Beloved wife of Ruby Dubrofsky with whom she spent almost every day. Devoted and special mother and mother-in-law of Randi Dubrofsky, and Neil and Marissa Dubrofsky. Proud grandma of Ryan who was the light of her life. Loving daughter of the late Leonard and the late Mary Cherry; and daughter-in-law of the Shya and the late Sadie Dubrofsky. Sister of the late Brian Cherry. Cherished sister-in-law of Irene and the late Norm Wexelman, and the late Lottie and the late Bernie Kornbluth. She will be missed terribly by Carolyn Ehrenreich to whom Sandra was like a second mother. Sandra will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. 

Sandra had a special love for animals and cared for many over the years taking in strays and rescues her family brought home to her. She worked for many years at the Jewish General Hospital, first as a volunteer and then in the admissions office. More recently she battled a few illnesses with dignity and bravery. A special thank you to the staff at Kastner Pavillion 6th floor, at Jewish Eldercare for taking such good care of her. 

Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on  Thursday, September 3rd at 11am.
