It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Sharron Denofsky, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 3rd, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sharron was a woman of deep compassion, fierce devotion, and quiet strength. Rooted in the traditions of her Jewish faith, she lived a life defined by kindness, integrity, and unwavering love for her family. Her spirit was a gentle light, illuminating the lives of all who knew her. Sharron had a deep love of travel, finding joy and inspiration in exploring new places and cultures, often returning with stories that reflected her curiosity and zest for life.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Barry, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and devotion for over 50 years of marriage. She was the cherished mother of Daniel and Jessica, whose lives were shaped by her nurturing wisdom and unconditional love. As a grandmother, she found immeasurable joy in her precious grandchildren, Karleigh and Emmett, whom she adored with every fiber of her being.
Sharron’s deep bond with her family extended to her mother, Kay Blacker, a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values, and unbreakable love. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, and best friend Glenda and brother-in-law Chris, with whom she shared a special bond. Her son-in-law, Dan, held a special place in her heart and was welcomed as a true member of the family.
In the words of Proverbs 31:26: “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” This was Sharron—gracious, thoughtful, and profoundly kind.
Her memory is already a blessing, and it will remain so for generations to come. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family—a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Monday May 5, at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue, Ottawa. Interment will follow at Jewish Memorial Gardens, 6549 Herberts Corners Road, Greely.
Shiva will be observed at Barry and Sharron’s home 311 Serenade Crescent, Monday from 7pm to 9pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm and Friday from 2pm to 4pm.
The family appreciates the kindness and support of the health care workers in the NACU and neurology wing who took such good care of Sharron over the last few weeks.
May her soul be bound in the bond of eternal life. Baruch Dayan Ha’Emet.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharron's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your own choice, would be greatly appreciated by her family.
