Sidney Cutler, QC

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sidney Cutler, QC at the age of ninety-four on Monday, January 26, 2026.  Much loved father and father-in-law of Stephanie and Larry Smolar, Sheldon and Andrea. Adored Papa/Grandpa of Lianne, Adam, Jamie and Sam, Jillian and Jamie. He will be fondly remembered by Eric, Erin, Avery and Georgie. Loving Uncle Sid of Lori, Lisa, Richard and Richard, Sally and Stu, Sheryl and Murray, and Allan. Husband of Lila Cutler. Partner for 22 years of the late Barbra Klein. Son of the late Florence and the late Louis Cutler.

Brother and brother-in-law of the late Joyce, the late Sandy and the late Billy Ginsberg; the late Lionel and the late Sylvia Weinstein, Phyllis and the late Jerry Rabinovitch.

Special thanks to Linda Saltzman whose companionship this past year meant more to him than words can express. Thank you to Maria Amaro and the staff of the Vista Residence and to the Mount Sinai Palliative Care 3rd Floor Doctors and Nurses for their exceptional care, and to Auntie Ellen for her love, friendship and devoted presence.

Graveside service at Beit Abraham Family Estates Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O., on Wednesday, January 28 at 12:00 p.m. Shiva at 287 Newton Road, D.D.O., following burial until 4 p.m., continuing 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations in Sidney’s memory may be made to Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation at (514) 369-2222 ext. 31299 or click here.
