Simon David Schwartz

Beloved father and grandfather, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 75.

David was born in Sainte-Agathe, Quebec, and spent the greater part of his life in Montreal, a city he called home and where he built lasting relationships and a life rooted in care for others.

He was a devoted father and grandfather, whose family was the centre of his world. Simon is survived by his two children, Avi and Esther, and by his cherished grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.

David was known, above all, for his kindness. He will be remembered for his good nature, his quiet generosity, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he encountered. His warmth and decency left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Graveside service on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Young Israel of Montreal Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O.  Shiva information to follow.  Donations in his memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation at (514) 340-8251.
