We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing and untimely of Steven Mitchell Weigensberg on November 21, 2025, at the age of 53. His departure, far too early, leaves an irreplaceable absence in the lives of those who loved him.
Originally from Montreal, Canada, Steven made his home in Naperville, Illinois, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and community. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Caplick Weigensberg, with whom he shared a partnership built on devotion and joy. He was a caring and devoted father of Morrison (Mo) Thomas and Macallan (Mac) Frank, whose lives he enriched daily with his guidance, humor, patience, and affection. A gentle soul, Steven also found joy in being a devoted dog dad.
He is predeceased by his mother, Linda. He is survived by his father Michael, his brothers Earle (Jessica) and Stuart (Rachel), and his cherished niece, nephews and cousins who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and connection.
Steven was a creative spirit who loved being behind the camera, capturing life’s beautiful moments. He delighted in attending his children’s events and games, always cheering them on with pride and joy. Of all his accomplishments, Steven was most proud of being a father - a role he embraced with endless love.
His life was defined by deep care for family and friends, and an ability to make every moment meaningful. He lived with generosity of spirit, a quiet strength, and a heart that embraced both the everyday joys and the profound responsibilities of love.
Although his time with us was cut too short, Steven’s life was well-lived, and it is a life to be celebrated. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him, reminding us to cherish each day and to hold close the bonds that give life its deepest meaning.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at Congregation Beth Shalom, 772 West 5th Avenue Naperville, IL. Burial at the Beth Shaolm Section of the Naperville, Cemetery.
