Peacefully, on August 1, 2025, at the age of eighty-eight. Beloved wife of Rabbi Shlomo Spiro, the love of her life. Daughter of the late William and the late Rose Switzer. Dear sister of Leah and Phil.

Syma was a woman of warmth, kindness, resilience, and quiet strength. Her sense of humor, deep love for her family, and ability to connect with others left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her smile lit up every room and touched countless hearts.

She will be forever cherished and remembered by her children: Elliott, Chani (Stan), Zippy (Yonah), and Mia (David); her grandchildren: Martin (Ava), Daniel (Sarah), Sigal (Yair), Sinai (Chen), Moshe (Adi), Shai, Nadav (Raaya), Maital (Anton), Ziv (Yuval), Gil, and Amalia; and her great-grandchildren: Rakhel, Zahava, Amitai, Talia, Yoad, Ellie, Shiloh, Shira, Eliya, Talia and Adam.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Syma’s devoted caregiver and companion, Janen, whose love, dedication, and presence brought comfort, dignity, and joy to Syma in her final years. Her exceptional care and unwavering kindness will never be forgotten.

Funeral services were held in Israel on Sunday night August 3 at the Tree of life cemetery in Beit Shemesh. Shiva is being observed at 6-bet Moshe Dayan in Kfar Saba. Donations in her memory can be sent to Ezor Mitzion where Syma was a volunteer for many years. https://ezermizion.org
