Peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in his ninety-ninth year. Treasured husband of the late Marilyn (Schwartz) Schreiber. Cherished father and father-in-law of Dr. Donald Schreiber and Lynn Saunders, Dr. Richard Schreiber and Cheryl Brownstein, Brian Schreiber and Haiyan Zhang, Suzanne Schreiber and Robert Greco, and Nancy Adams. Son of the late David and the late Sophie (Glass) Schreiber. Predeceased by his siblings, Myra, Jean, Edward (Shirley), Moe (Sarah), and Irv (Esther). Dear brother-in-law of Harriet and Marvin Corber, C.M.
Proud grandfather of Lauren (Ben), Nicole, Mark, Benjamin (Adriana), and Jonathan. As the surviving family patriarch, he took great pride in connecting with his multigenerational extended family. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends far and wide.
Raised as the youngest child of his family on the Main, he was employed in manufacturing as a young man at the Peerless Clothing company and later joined his father-in-law, William (Billy) Schwartz, at Utility Garments, Inc., becoming company president.
Physically active all his life, his true passion was skiing, which he pursued avidly from his teenage years to his last ski day at the age of ninety. For over fifty years, he served in the Canadian Ski Patrol in many leadership positions. He was very proud of his 2019 induction into the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame in recognition of his longstanding volunteerism and dedication to the sport. Skiing was his fountain of youth, and he was famous for his endorsement of three deep breaths of mountain air at the top of the ski hill as a cure for all ailments.
The family would like to sincerely thank his caregivers, Myrna Realubit and, especially, Joann Culla-Ag, for their remarkably loving meticulous and dignified care.
