It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the incomparable Wolf Bronet: Holocaust survivor, Marathoner, and Wolf Pack leader, after a life joyously lived.

Son of the late Moishe Mendel and the late Rochelle Leah, who perished in the Holocaust. Beloved husband of the late Henia.  Cherished father of Sandy (Henri) and the late great Moishe Bronet. Adored grandfather of Ilan (Robin), Josh (Kira), Rachelle, Zohar (Sophia), and Samson (Icoquih). Tickled pink great-grandfather of Wolfie! Brother and brother-in-law of the late Sam (the late Pearl), the late Henry (the late Elaine), the late Adele (the late Al), the late Karola, and the late Yossel.

Wolf died as he lived: with a smile, surrounded by love and song - on the morning of March 17th, at 102 years old. Born in Warsaw, Poland in 1924, Wolf survived the Holocaust before immigrating to Canada in 1949, where he built a life defined by service, inclusiveness, generosity of spirit, and love for his family. In Montreal, he discovered a lifelong passion for running and, through his positivity, charisma and warmth, brought together people from all walks of life to form the Wolf Pack at the YM-YWHA. Wolf was larger than life. He had a gift to make people smile and laugh, whether through a well-placed joke or his natural jovial charm. People suffered through his runs but stayed thanks to his leadership.

For decades, he led the Wolf Pack in raising funds for causes including Cancer research, the Terry Fox Run and the Heart Foundation. His philanthropy extended beyond Montreal, helping support the donation of ambulances in Israel and planting a grove of trees in the Wolf Pack’s name there. He was recognized nationally for his volunteerism, though acclaim was never what drove him, it was his love for Judaism, for his community and for his fellow man.

Even at 100, he remained engaged, connected and committed to the people and causes he loved, always encouraging others, in his way, to never give up. He will be greatly missed by all whose path he ever crossed or ran in his footsteps.

We will always love you Wolf and thank G-d we got to enjoy you this long.
