Benita (Tina) Louise Cohen

Peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2024, in her seventy-third year. Beloved daughter of the late Albert and the late Anne Cohen. She will be fondly remembered by the staff and her many friends at the Miriam Home.

Tina’s parents were very involved in their daughter's life. Betty Zuckerman, a family friend, advocated for Tina after her parent’s passing.  Tina was with Miriam Home for over twenty years where she lived in her own apartment at Caldwell, making many friends. She then moved with Melinda and the girls for over fourteen years. She had a strong relationship with everyone in the home and was considered a part of the family. Tina had a caring and compassionate personality and took pleasure in meeting people for the first time and getting to know them. Her easy-going personality made her appreciate the simple things like singing during the holidays, listening to old music, participating in games with the girls, participating in the Miriam events like the supper program or even conversing with others. She'd often look out for the people who cared for her asking if they needed anything if they weren't feeling well. Tina loved to laugh and make jokes. She would laugh at the simplest jokes and always make some of her own. She was entertained by her personal belongings, especially by her music box and singing with her records.

Graveside service on Thursday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Knights of Pythias Section, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 5505 Bas St-François, Laval, H7C 0G3. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Miriam Foundation, (514) 345-1300.

TIna will be greatly missed and always loved.
