Butch (Martin) Halickman

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, the family is sad to announce the sudden passing of their patriarch. Treasured husband of the late Carole Miller, devoted father and father-in-law of Jeffrey, Janie and Paul Fischlin, and Kathi. Adoring Pappy of Jackson and Ashley, Rachel and Max, Joshua, Emily and Lee. Proud Great-Grandfather to Mischa and Rafael, Romy and Grant. Son of the late Mary and the late Isadore Halickman. Loving brother and brother-in-law of Henny and the late Bunny Sternklar, Fred and Rena Halickman, Michael and Elaine Halickman, the late Isobel and the late Morty Goodman; and brother-in-law of Shirley-Ann and Peter Lewis, Robert Miller, Norman and Vilma Miller. He will be sorely missed by his many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Butch lived a beautiful and colourful life. We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his loving wife. Known for his sharp wit, signature advice, tall tales, impeccable style, and ability to charm a room in an instant, he lived life to its fullest with Carole, his high school sweetheart. He was the proud head of a growing three-generation family, and his memory will live on in their stories, laughter, and love.

The family would like to thank Chaii, Marie Grace, and the staff at St. Mary’s hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
