We are heartbroken to announce her passing. Cynthia was the devoted daughter of the late Alex and Betty Ship. Loving wife of the late Stanley Blonder. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Laurie and Jeff Cohen, Neil and Bonnie Blonder, and Marcie and Yuval Gurr. Proud Bubbie Cyn of the original 8 R Great, she loved all her grandchildren as her own: Matthew and Laurel, Ethan and Amanda, Sam and Jordy, Jordyn and Jake, Zack and Nikki, Max and Melissa, Noah and Mallory, and Rachel and Daniel. She was the most loving great-grandmother, who always had a treat waiting for Jax, Cooper, Hunter, Brady, Simon, Miley, and Charlie. Cynthia was also a dear sister-in-law to Sue Ship.

Cynthia’s family was her greatest pride and joy. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart and cherished the special bond she shared with them. Bubbie Cyn lived her life with tremendous determination and fierce independence. Some would say she was a tough cookie who never gave up, no matter the obstacles she faced. She fought cancer with grace and never let her illness define her.

Cynthia was a passionate baseball fan who also loved playing poker and mahjong. She hated to miss a game! She deeply missed the love of her life, her beloved Stan. Cynthia will be deeply missed by her family and lifelong friends in Toronto and Montreal, her poker and mahjong buddies, her cousins, and her many friends at the Gates of Bayview.
