MASHAAL, Evette (née Shahin)

Peacefully, at home, on Monday, June 3, 2024. Devoted and adored wife of Morris Mashaal for sixty-eight years. Beloved and inspiring mother and mother-in-law of Michael Mashaal and Marla Cohen, and Marina Mashaal. Cherished ‘Nana’ of Stuart, Samantha, and Jennifer. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Claudette and the late Nouri Levy, Élise Dayan and the late James (Jimmy) Shahin, Eddy and Yael Shahin, David and Eva Shahin; and sister-in-law of the late Edward and the late Gertrude Mashaal, the late Salim and the late Doris Mashaal, Danielle and the late Freddy Mashaal, Albert and Sandy Mashaal, Victor and Edna Mashaal, Sue and Kamal Gabbay, Emile and Myriam Mashaal. Evette will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family, friends, and by her special furry friend, Vinny. Heartfelt thanks to Drs. Gerald Batist, Claudine Maari, Line Vautour, Sabah Bekhor, and to nurses Maude and Lietti. Special thanks to Ming and her “team of angels”, Leny, Cherry P., Cherry U., Michelle, Melita, Nanette, and Daryl. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Spanish & Portuguese Congregation Cemetery, 1250 ch. de la Forêt. Shiva at her home.
