16th of Tevet, 5786

Born in Paris, France, to Laja Dvora (née Gutmer) and Shiye Blank, Joseph Blank survived World War II with his parents. Notably, he was a witness to the July 1942 Vel' d'Hiv' roundup which he narrowly escaped, thanks to his mother's quick thinking and determination.

In 1955, Joseph and his parents emigrated to Canada. He trained as an engineer in Montreal and dedicated his entire professional career to Nortel/Bell Canada.

A passionate traveler, Joseph especially enjoyed visiting the Pacific Islands, with a particular fondness for Hawaii. He was also a dedicated war historian, contributing his expertise to the Montreal Holocaust Museum.

Throughout his life, Joseph was a devoted son, caring for his parents, and a cherished friend to many.
