Leana Coleman (née Schmerer)

Peacefully, on Sunday, September 6th, 2026 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Barry Coleman for 59 years. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Joanna Coleman and Greg MacDonald, and Joshua Coleman. Daughter of the late Max and the late Sylvia Schmerer; and daughter-in-law of the late William and the late Babe Ruth Coleman. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Jerry and Linda Schmerer. Sister-in-law of Sharon and the late Reeves Coleman, the late Jack and the late Esmi Coleman. Loving aunt of Jamie and April, Jordan; Edouardo, Andrew; and Karen; and great-aunt of Ava, and Max. Leana will be lovingly remembered by her family and many dear friends. The family would like to acknowledge with sincere gratitude her compassionate caregivers. Special thanks to Dr. Elyssa Elman and her staff, and the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Jewish General Hospital. 

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, September 10th at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at Jerry and Linda’s home.
