With profound sadness, we mourn the sudden passing of our beloved Sylvia on October 21st , just two months shy of her 97th birthday.
Daughter of the late Bertha and Isaac Schwartz. Devoted and loving mother and mother-in-law of Lawrence and Donna, Barry, Carolyn, and Michael and Zena. Proud grandmother of Matthew, Atara and Steve, Danielle and Eli, Aryeh and Chani, Shayna and Yitzchak, Jesse, Kelly, Emily and Kevin, and Nicole; and cherished great-grandmother of 17 wonderful great-grandchildren who all loved her very much. Predeceased by her beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, Clara and Henry Kaufman, and Francie and Irving Fuchs. Adored auntie and dear friend to many.
Born and raised in Montreal, Sylvia lived a long and beautiful life, remaining remarkably independent until her final days. A voracious reader with an insatiable curiosity about the world, she was also an exceptional cook who brought her family together around the table, especially during traditional Jewish holidays. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
We are deeply grateful to Nasrin and Diane of CLSC Rene Cassin, and to Astrid, whose tireless dedication and compassionate care meant so much to Sylvia and our family.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on October 25th at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Beth Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.
She was a kind, soft-hearted and selfless woman who took immense pride in her family and whose love, generosity, and values will live on through generations.
