It is with great sadness that the family of Lila (Fineman) Wolfe-Druckman announces her peaceful passing in her sleep at the age of 98.  She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Susie and Harry Fineman, and her brother, Manny Fineman.

Lila often remarked on how lucky she was to have had two great loves in her life.  She was married to (Moses) Jonathan Wolfe (z”l) for 35 years, during which time they lived in Chile for a three-year placement where he served as the Vice Consul of Canada.  Later, she was married to one of her childhood friends, Len Druckman (z”l) for eighteen years.

Lila boasted of the successes of her children Audrey (Mark Berner) and Robert Wolfe (Louise Freed) as well as Len’s sons, Karl (Lisa Gelboin) and Howard (Beverly Kreller).  She had the opportunity to share love and laughter with her grandchildren, Nili Berner (Tony Bassett and his son Michael), Lev Berner (Smadar Brandes), Glenn Wolfe (Anna McGaughey), and Jo Wolfe, as well as David Gelboin (Jennifer Haque) and Emma Druckman. Lila adored her three great-grandchildren, Maya Berner, Idan Berner and Saiya Gelboin. She was also very close with her cousin, Estie Kleinfeld, many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. In fact, Lila was everyone’s “Safta”.

Throughout her life, Lila travelled extensively, studied widely, and pursued excellence in her career as a professor of elementary science education at McGill University. She enjoyed her many experiences and often said, in her last days, that she had been very lucky and “had a good run”.

We are forever grateful to the nurses and staff at Selena Residence for their care and compassion and for making Lila’s final days comfortable.
