In Memory of Ruth Markus (nee Herz)
April 10, 1933 – August 8, 2025
Beloved mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, Ruth passed away peacefully at the age of ninety-two, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Frankfurt Germany, she was known for her impeccable sense of style, sharp eye for detail, and unwavering determination. Ruth faced life challenges with resilience and strength and marked those she crossed throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her dear husband, Philip Markus, and is survived by her loving daughter Judy Markus, son-in-law Carlos Solomon, granddaughters Yasmine Solomon-Markus (Darryl), and Felicia Solomon-Markus (Liran) who brought her immense pride.
Ruth will be remembered for her elegance, her grit and the unique spirit she carried throughout her ninety-two years. Her last request was for everyone to “ Remember me, good or bad, BUT REMEMBER ME”. We would like to thank Residence Lev Tov staff for their care, and a very special thank you to the incredible ER and Palliative Care doctors, nurses, and staff at the Lachine Hospital.
Graveside service on Sunday, August 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregation Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Section, Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva strictly private.
