Stephen (Steve) Byer

With deep sadness the family announces the passing of Stephen (Steve) Byer on Monday, September 28, 2026. Devoted husband of Carole Godin. Father of the late Jarrod Byer. Proud grandfather of Patrick, Ryan, Katie, Branden, and the late Chloe. Brother and brother-in-law of David and the late Barbara Byer; and brother-in-law of Ginette Godin and the late Gilles Lachaine, Yvon Godin, Denis and Mona Godin, Pierre and Micheline Godin, Fernand Desroches and the late Francine Godin, Nicole and the late André Godin. Steve will be missed by his cousins: Harriet Lieberman, Lee Mendelson, and Sheldon, by his nieces and nephews, family, friends, and all those who knew him. Special thanks to his precious caregiver, Maxine Jonson, for her compassion and dedication.

Graveside service on Thursday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the King Edward section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery (9660 rue Berri, Montreal).

C’est avec immense tristesse que la famille de M. Stephen (Steve) Byer annonce son décès lundi 28 septembre 2026. Époux dévoué de Carole Godin. Père de feu Jarrod Byer. Fier grand-père de Patrick, Ryan, Katie, Branden, et feu Chloe. Frère et beau-frère de David et feu Barbara Byer; beau-frère de Ginette Godin et feu Gilles Lachaine, Yvon Godin, Denis et Mona Godin, Pierre et Micheline Godin, Fernand Desroches et feu Francine Godin, Nicole et feu André Godin. Oncle spécial de Matthew et Joshua Byer. Steve manquera à ses cousins, Harriet Lieberman, Lee Mendelson, Sheldon, à ses nièces et neveux, sa famille, ses amis, et tous ceux et celles qui l’ont connue. Nous tenons à remercier tout particulièrement sa chère aidante, Maxine Jonson, pour sa compassion et son dévouement.

Le service funéraire aura lieu jeudi 1 octobre à 10h dans la section King Edward du cimetière Back River Memorial Gardens (9660 rue Berri, Montréal).
