Born July 28, 1922, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Asna and the late Myer Ginsberg and the devoted wife of the late Hy Hazen.

Mary was a loving mother and mother-in-law of Ed and the late Pat Haslop and Jeffrey and Janet Hazen. Proud and cherished grandmother of Heather and Ryan Vernon and Michelle Tucker, and a loving great-grandmother of Eric and Ada, who brought her immeasurable joy and so much pride. Beloved sister and sister-in-law and best friend of Sally and the late Morty Vineberg.

Mary was predeceased by her siblings Hy and Adele Ginsberg, Faye Gilbert, and Essie and Moe Levin.

Devoted to her family, Mary treasured the time she spent with those she loved. She had a wonderful zest for life and a warm, generous spirit that made everyone feel welcome. She loved entertaining, travelling, and volunteering, always finding joy in connecting with others and embracing new experiences. A talented and creative woman, Mary had a special artistic flair and enjoyed expressing herself in many ways. She was also an avid bridge player who appreciated both the challenge of the game and the friendships it fostered.

Mary lived a long and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, generosity, and cherished memories. Her family was the centre of her world, and she took immense pride in each generation that followed her. The love she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. She will be deeply missed by her family, her many nieces and nephews, and all those whose lives she touched.

Words cannot adequately express the family’s profound gratitude to Mary’s amazing caregivers, Liz, Rosann, Alma, Julie, Jeda, and Nida. Their kindness, compassion, and devoted care brought comfort and made an immeasurable difference in Mary’s life. The family would also like to extend special thanks to Doctors. Ruby Friedman and Moishe Eisenberg for their exceptional care, compassion and friendship.

Mary will be remembered with great affection and gratitude for a life well lived, the love she shared, and the many wonderful memories she leaves behind. She will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
