Shayna Laing

Shayna passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025 at the age of ninety-two. Daughter of the late Nathan Laing and the late Rae Laing (née Pashlinsky). Loving mother and mother-in-law of Dean and Lisa Michaels, and Clifford and Kristen Michaels. Adoring Bubby of Corey and Clare, Melissa, Alexander, and Cameron. Devoted cousin of Anne Soroka. Pre-deceased by her very best friend Fred. She will be greatly missed by all those she touched and her longtime friends Vera, Thelma and Rebecca.

Shayna was an accomplished Artist, Art Teacher, Art Consultant and Volunteer who inspired and touched many lives. A special thank you to Sharon and Lani for their companionship, and to the staff at the Donald Berman Centre for their care.

Graveside service at Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O., on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to the Seville Room at the Ruby Foo’s Hotel following the burial on Friday. Shiva in Toronto to be confirmed.
