Holocaust Survivor
It is with profound sadness that Sylvia’s (Cesia) family announces her passing on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the age of one hundred and one. Beloved wife of the late Harry (Heniek). Loving mother and mother-in-law of Ida and Frank Cwilich and Walter and Karen Fogel. Cherished Bubby of Cheryl and Sean Cwilich, Steven and Tiffany Fogel, Mitchell and Emese Fogel. Adoring Elte Bubby (great-grandmother) of Maya Ella, Jacob Heniek and Levi Peter Fogel. Daughter of the late Chaia and the late Israel Kulisch. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Basia and the late Joseph Kaminer, the late Fishel Kulisch, and the late Moishe Kulisch. Cesia will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Heartfelt gratitude to her longtime caregiver, Mona Hamburg, as well as the staff of 6 south at the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Center.

Shiva at her daughter Ida’s home, and continuing for Walter on Friday at his home in Ottawa.
