Belfrine (Belle) Katz (née Browman)

March 11, 1936 – August 16, 2025

Peacefully, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Oscar Katz for fifty-six years. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Robin Katz, and Mark and Valerie Katz. Cherished grandmother of Cory G., David L., and Sabrina. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Heather and the late Jerry Browman, Linda and Harold Trachtenberg, and sister-in-law of Cecile Mauer Katz. She will be deeply missed by her Houston nephews and nieces, Brian and Linda Shapiro, and Steve and Suesie Glagow, as well as by her special friends, Sandi and Walter Magenheim of Florida, and her extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Leo and Sarah (née Bishinsky) Browman, and by her dear sisters- and brothers-in-law: Rose Glagow Weicher and Harold Glagow, Doris and Maury Struzer, Bill Katz, Judy Shapiro Creatchman and Jerry Shapiro and Nat Creatchman, Ruthie and Max Rosenbloom, Manny and Lynne Katz. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Friday, August 22 at 10:00 am. Burial at the Victorian Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva will be observed at Ruby Foo’s Hotel through Friday evening.
